Eye in coffee grounds and tea leaves: meaning
In Cicely Kent's tea-leaf book the eye means insight and the solving of difficulties; on woman.ru, eyes mean a change in life. Only two sources collected for this site have an eye entry, Kent's book and woman.ru, and the two entries differ. The Turkish dictionary has no eye entry, and neither does Highland Seer.

Western tea-leaf books
Kent writes that the eye signifies penetration (insight) and the solving of difficulties, and that it also shows depth of character and love.
Russian-language sites
The woman.ru list of figures has the plural entry Eyes (Glaza in Russian), and it means a change in life. The list does not say whether the change is for the better or for the worse.
In combination with other signs
- Eye and envelope. In Kent's chapter on a cup marked with planetary symbols, an eye and an envelope sit above the space given to Jupiter. Kent glosses the eye there as the power of penetration: things are seen in a right perspective, and light falls on difficult questions.
- Clusters of shapeless leaves (general rule of Kent). The whole cup, not the eye, is Kent's subject here: clusters of shapeless leaves stand for clouds that mar the effect of an otherwise fortunate cup.
- Figures read together (general rule of woman.ru). The woman.ru author's rule covers all figures, the Eyes entry included: not to interpret them one by one, but to look at all the blots together and put them into a single chain of associations.
